Notice of firmware upgrading –
For P-8504, P-4504, P-500, P-513, P-523, P-525, P-528, P-1500

There are two versions of F/W file; v1.12.xx and v2.00.xx. For the unit with F/W version around v1.11Rxx, the former one (1.12.xx) will be a bridging to the version of 2.00.xx. The detail upgrade instruction is listed as below.

1. Download the two firmware bin files.
2. Upgrade device with F/W version 1.12.xx
3. Launch IE browser. Make sure it is successfully upgraded with this version.
4. Upgrade this device again with F/W version 2.00.xx
5. Upgrade again with this version directly after the previous upgrade completed. (Which means the upgrade to v2.00.xx needs to be done TWICE)
6. Check again with the IE Web to confirm the process is done successfully.

Please do follow above instruction, otherwise the unit may get stuck and unbootable.
For unit with F/W version of v2.00xx, just upgrade the device with v2.00.xx (newer version) as normal.

Notice about firmware upgrades:
If the p-300 receives unsuitable firmware version, the upgrade will fail and roll back to the original version.
Before attempting to upgrade the network, it is recommended to follow these steps
1.Check MAC address
2.If the MAC is in the range of 00-04-29-01-XX-3A to 00-04-29-04-XX-3A, the P-300(8K) should be chosen; otherwise you should choose P-300(16K).
3.Update the firmware.

 System Requirements

1. Ensure that your system meets the ActiveX Control system requirements:
-Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows XP/Windows ME/Windows 98
-Internet Explorer 6.0
-DirectX 9.0c
2. Ensure that your system has installed the latest Critical Updates from
Windows Update.
3. Ensure that your Internet Explorer Security settings have been set to Low
(temporarily) or at least enable ActiveX control settings.
4. If your system is using Symantec Internet Security Professional, ensure
that it is disabled.
5. Temporarily disable any Anti-Virus software that may be installed.

Is it necessary to reboot the PC after upgrading the ActiveX control?
If you have been browsing a device that is using an old ActiveX control then switch to a device with a new ActiveX control in the same browser session, after installing the new ActiveX control you will be prompted to reboot your computer before the changes will take effect. In fact, you only need to close all instances of Internet Explorer, then open a new instance and browse to the device with the new ActiveX control. This time, after
installing the ActiveX control, you will not be prompted to reboot your computer.
