A tool to watch your children
In Mexico City a monitoring system can be used to watch the children from their classrooms in real time through the Internet and could be seen from any computer.
The system is called "KINDER WATCH" ( http:// www.kinderwatch.com.mx ) and consists of placing PIXORD IP cameras in schools, the parents could see their kids from home or office by Internet.
PROCOM is leadership in Telecom and IP Video solution in the Mexican market it sells the system and quotes "Our system represents a virtual union to bring together the family without physical contact.
The access is through Procom's web page or a link from the school's web pages. To get access to the schools cameras, the parents need a user ID and a password so they may view the principal areas of the schools (classrooms, library, halls, common areas, etc.).
The images can be seen from any computer and the parents can see their kids only in class hours and breaks. Procom's system contains a security lock that avoids hackers to access and make bad use of it.
Another main advantage of PROCOM'S technology is the parents can access the system from a cellular telephone with GSM technology or from any mobile or wireless Internet system.
Once the parents access the system they can select any camera (classroom, hall or common area) where their children are, without interfering other parents using the same camera at same time.
Nevertheless, the system is not intended for security purposes, its main use is to approach the children with their parents.
Up to now the PROCOM'S system had been installed in 10 schools in the Mexico City area with an average of 150 children and 10 IP Pixord cameras per school and more than 2500 schools in all Mexico are waiting for the Procom's system to be installed next year.
